Vicente Blends was started as a passion project by Vincent McGlone. McGlone was inspired to set out and blend delicious, elegant cigars, which would push the boundaries of the cigar industry. McGlone's vision was to blend cigars for a luxurious, and one-of-a-kind smoking experience. Between the construction, flavor profile, and presentation, McGlone's vision came to fruition. Vicente Blends produces luxurious cigars, that allow the enjoyer to experience new construction methods, and complex flavor profiles. Below, you will read the review of the Vicente Palladium V. The Palladium V delivers a wonderful construction and delicious flavors and aromas.

The appearance of the Palladium V is nothing short of unique. The cigar itself has a medium brown wrapper, with no prominent blemishing. The wrapper shows some veins throughout, but is smooth overall. There is a slight oiliness to the wrapper, which allows for a mild glisten. The cigars is presented with a metal band. The band is simple, but elegant. "Vicente Blends" and "Palladium" can be seen inscribed on the sides, with a prominent "V" as part of the band's construction. The box for the Palladium V is a simple, white box with silver accents. On the inside of the lid, the box displays a silver medallion with pertinent information regarding the cigar.

The Palladium V is essentially a Dominican Puro. The cigar is constructed with a Dominican Filler and Binder, wrapped in a Dominican Havana 2000 Wrapper. The cigars cuts well, and presents a smooth draw even before lighting. Once lit, the burn is even to start, and remains clean throughout the smoke. The ash on the cigar is a light gray/white, and falls around the two inch mark. The cigar does not flake once ashed, and allows for a leisurely smoking experience.

The flavor profile is where the Palladium V truly shines. The cold draw presents notes of oak and nuts. After first lighting, the cigar has strong notes of oak, almond, and cinnamon, with a light molasses undertone. As the smoke progresses, you will taste notes of black pepper and salt, along with an aroma of butter, toast, and light espresso. The retrohale emits notes of black pepper, almond, and earth. Farther into the first third, the salt flavor dissipates, and notes of oak and toast remain at the forefront. Subtle notes of caramel, molasses, almond, and earth accompany the stronger notes. The second third introduces notes of nutmeg, with oak and earth still remaining prominent. The retrohale features mild notes of ginger, black pepper, and caramel. A very mild graphite flavor comes into play, but dissipates as quickly as it came. Notes of butter and white pepper become prominent, along with notes of oak, toast, and earth accompanying. Going into the final third, you'll experience notes of molasses and dry hay, along with red pepper and almond of the retrohale.

The final third presents notes of strong black pepper, almond, oak, espresso, and butter. Mild notes of toast and black pepper are on the retrohale. Hints of cinnamon linger on the palate, along with a mild mineral flavor. The Palladium V finishes strong with notes of oak and earth, with undertones of white pepper, caramel, and butter.

The price on the Palladium V is a little steep, but is well worth it for the experience. While you can't obtain the Palladium V as a single stick, you can buy it in a box of 10, for around $420.00, which comes out to around $42.00 per stick. The Palladium V is also available in a sample pack of four, which features all four cigars from the Vicente Selection.

The Palladium V presents itself with a luxurious presentation, complex flavor profile, and wonderful construction. While it does have a high price point, the value for the cigar is well worth it. The collection from Vicente Blends is absolutely worth a try, and worth the price. The Palladium V would be great for an intermediate or veteran cigar smoker. While it may be a little strong for the newer cigar smoker, it's definitely worth a try further into your own cigar journey.
