The Premium Cigar Association, which is one of the largest outlets for tobacco rights, commerce, and representation, has announced the dates for the 2024 PCA Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV.

The PCA Trade Show will be held in Las Vegas, NV, from March 22-25. This comes after years of trying to get the trade show dates moved closer to the start of the year, and for good reason. With the trade show being held in March, it allows retailers a better opportunity to order the newest cigars to market before the end of the year. This will allow for more exposure for all the brands overall, and give retailers the ability to highlight the new cigars like they deserve.

The PCA Trade Show used to be held in July, which, if you didn't know, is really hot in Las Vegas. The other issue with having the trade show in July, is that manufacturers and brand owners would be delayed in getting their products to the stores after the orders. Retailers would place their orders in July at the trade show, and the new cigars wouldn't arrive to the shops and lounges until late October or early November.

The trade show moving to March is definitely a good move. However, this does put the trade show closer to TPE (Total Product Expo), which is another show for cigars, but also encompasses other smokables, such as vapes and pipes. This could cause issues with retailers, who may not want to travel to Las Vegas twice in a three month period for trade shows.

All in all, it's a good move by PCA. It shows promise to help with the attendance issues that have been happening the last few years, increase the availability of new cigars to retailers and customers, and allow attendees to not die (joking) of Las Vegas heat in July.
