All Saints have been taking over the boutique scene of the cigar industry since its inception. With its great selection of sizes, unique flavor profiles, and outstanding presentations, All Saints puts out some great cigars. This review follows the Cigar Spotlight of the All Saints Habano, which you can hear on the Great Cigars Podcast.
The All Saints Habano features a smooth and almost unblemished wrapper. The texture, paired with the beautiful tan color of the wrapper, gives a little insight as to how smooth the cigar's flavor profile and body is. The band features the All Saints shield, with gold ornaments, and a navy blue and off white color motif. While it may be more subdued than some of the other cigars in the All Saints catalog, the Habano will be sure to stand out in your home humidor.
The All Saints Habano is constructed with Nicaraguan binder and filler, and wrapped together in an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The cigar features a smooth draw, allowing for easy enjoyment of all the flavors it has to offer. That being said, the air flow is not too loose so that the flavors escape the palate. The ash will fall at around an inch, but no flakes fly off the foot after ashing. The burn is relatively even. Minor touch ups may be required, but no major canoeing should be experienced.
The All Saints Habano starts with black pepper, leather, and hints of cedar. As the smoke progresses into the first-third, notes of espresso and dried fruit accompany the black pepper and leather notes, while notes of cedar and citrus linger on the palate. Well into the first-third, notes of citrus and white pepper can be experienced on the retrohale, along with subtle notes of earth. The second-third will feature strong notes of cedar and earth, with milder notes of almond, cream, and cinnamon. Dried fruit and floral notes make up the aroma of the retrohale. The final third has a strong nutty flavor, accompanies by notes of espresso, cinnamon, and cedar. You may also taste mild notes of earth, dried fruit, and nutmeg.
The All Saints Habano Toro has a decent price, especially for the flavor profile alone. A single cigar can cost around $11.50, while a box of 12 goes for around $138.00. Given the flavor profile, appearance, and construction, the price of $11.50 isn't too shabby. While it could be priced closer to $10.50, the price listed is perfectly fair.
This cigar provides a wonderful smoking experience, and great for all levels of cigar smokers. Veteran smokers will enjoy the more subtle notes and mild undertones in the flavor profile, while newer cigar smokers will enjoy the light-medium body of the smoke.
